Pilates also improves overall muscle tone, flexibility, and body awareness, which can help runners identify and correct imbalances that may lead to injuries. In my classes we focus on developing controlled, efficient movements and proper breathing techniques, which translate to better running economy and endurance.

Additionally, Pilates works muscles in different planes of movement, complementing the forward-focused motion of running and helping to prevent overuse injuries. A study even showed that runners who participated in a 12-week Pilates program significantly improved their 5km times, demonstrating its potential to directly enhance running performance.
