Core strength is indispensable for runners, as it enhances stability during running as well as daily activities, helps prevents injuries, improves posture and efficiency, supports endurance, and boosts overall performance.

Incorporating core-strengthening exercises into your training regimen is essential for both novice and experienced runners looking to enhance their running and longevity in the sport. Try this Bear hold and shoulder tap with me today, comment below and let me know your thoughts.

• Start in a four point kneeling position, wrist under shoulder, knee under hip

• Tuck you toes under and lift your knees off the floor (if this is too challenging lift a single knee at a time)

• Inhale to prepare

• Exhale, engage your core by pulling your hip bones together and ribs towards your hips

• Slowly lift one hand off the floor and tap the opposite shoulder and return the hand to the ground

• Repeat with other hand

• Complete 6 to 12 reps on each side
